Sucheta Kamath
President & Founding Board Member
Sucheta Kamath, founder of Cerebral Matters, is a cognitive rehabilitation specialist with specific expertise in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with executive functioning deficits. She brings together current research in neuroscience, clinical expertise, and an appreciation for raising children and helping them become more self-sufficient learners.
Sucheta is also the founder of ExQ, a patented, research-informed system
esigned to enhance executive function through game-based personalized training. The exclusive ExQ virtual curriculum prompts thinking to ignite processes essential for academic, emotional, and social well-being. Through the strengthening of executive functioning, ExQ develops skills core to student’s success in academics, in sports, in the arts, and in relationships.
Sucheta was recently awarded the “Honors of the Association Award” by GSHA for outstanding professional achievement in speech-language pathology field. As a graduate of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2015, Sucheta is involved in many social justice initiatives in Metro Atlanta. Finally, Sucheta serves on many non-profit boards including the American Speech-Language-Hearing Assocation's International Issues Board, the Georgia Speech-Language and Hearing Association, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation and Sanatan Mandir Atlanta.
Carol Ann Raymond
Director of Finance & Founding Board Member
Carol Ann Raymond, MBA, Ed.S., CCC-SLP, received her undergraduate, masters, and educational specialist degrees in speech-language pathology from the University of Georgia and her MBA from Troy University. With clinical experiences spanning more than 30 years in a variety of settings, her focus has been in medical administration and supervision. She retired from the University of Georgia, where she was a Clinical Professor and UGA Speech and Hearing Clinic Director. She has been an active member of the Georgia Speech-
Language-Hearing Association (GSHA), serving as GSHA President, Vice-President for Communication, and GSHA Division-President for Speech-Language Pathology, as well as chairing various other committees. She also served as Vice Chair for Speech-Language Pathology on the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Council for Clinical Certification in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
Recognition for her work has included GSHA Honors of the Association, GSHA Dr. Robert A. Hull Leadership Award, GSHA Volunteer Service Award, ASHA Outstanding Volunteer from Georgia, and ASHA Foundation Clinical Achievement Award for Georgia.
Establishing the GSHFoundation has been her long-time goal. She is honored to serve on the Board and to support professionals and students as they work to improve the quality of life for individuals with communication and swallowing disorders.
Deborah Froehlich
Fundraising Chair
Deborah Froehlich MA, CCC-SLP received her undergraduate degree in Speech- Language Pathology and Audiology from Ball State University and her Master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. Her work began in the public schools in Goodrich Michigan, and she completed her Clinical Fellowship at McLaren Hospital in Flint Michigan.

Following relocation to Athens, Georgia, Deborah held an Instructor/ Clinical
Supervisor position at the University of Georgia for 7 years. For the next 20 years, she held positions as SLP, Therapy Manager and Shift Supervisor within the Gwinnett Hospital System. Deborah retired following 40 years of service in Speech-Language Pathology in 2019 from the Gwinnett County Public School System.
She has served GSHA in various roles including Executive Council Secretary, Continuing Education Chair, GSHA President, Long Range Strategic Planning Chair and received the Honors of the Association in 1998. In ASHA, she held leadership positions on the Legislative Council, served as NOMS Coordinator for Georgia and as Secretary of the Council for State Association Presidents (CSAP).
In her spare time, Deborah enjoys yoga, knitting, reading, volunteering as a Master Gardener and spending time with her husband, Kurt, and their long haired dachshund, Fritz. She also owns a part time business with Mary Kay. Deborah is proud and honored to serve as Fundraising Director on the GSHFoundation Board.
Leila L. Hartley
Program Director
Leila L. Hartley, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, received her Doctorate in communication sciences and neuropsychology from the University of Florida. She has over 40 years of clinical experience with adult neurogenic communication disorders. She is the author of Cognitive-Communicative Abilities Following Brain Injury: A Functional Approach and other publications in the areas of discourse abilities and functional approaches to rehabilitation following traumatic brain injury.
She has a private practice in Atlanta, Georgia.
